FAQ - DW 800 Wireless System
What is the maximum number of systems that work in an area where they are in range of each other?

(1.8 GHz DECT intercom system in theory)
In theory the DECT 1.8 GHz system runs with 10 digital channels with 12 time slots using frequency hopping, which result in 120 channels (unsynchronized). That will allow 120 connections at the same time. This means 30 master mobile units, each with 4 slave mobile units attached (30 intercom systems in total).

(1.8 GHz DECT intercom system in practice)
In practice, the master mobile units and other DECT systems influence each other, especially if they are placed in close proximity (less than 1 meter). Therefore to ensure the best audio quality, we do not recommend using more then 20 connections in the same room (5 intercom systems in total) whereby the distance between each of the master mobile units should be over one meter. Thus it depends on the size of the room as to how many systems can be installed at one time. A channel capacity problem will result in a short range and sound disturbances.

(2.4 GHz intercom system in theory)
In theory the 2.4 GHz system runs with 95 digital channels with 4 time slots using frequency hopping, which result in 380 channels. That will allow 380 connections at the same time. This means 76 master mobile units with each 4 slave mobile units attached (76 intercom systems in total). In peek situations the 2.4 GHz system switches to dual slot diversity, which means one connection uses 2 channels. The result of dual slot diversity is 190 connections at the same time and 38 master mobile units with each 4 slave mobile units attached (38 intercom systems in total).

(2.4 GHz intercom system in practice)
In real life the master mobile units and other 2.4 GHz systems influence each other, especially if they are placed in close proximity (less than 1 meter). Therefore to ensure the best audio quality, we do not recommend using more then 35 connections in the same room (7 intercom systems in total), whereby the distance between each of the master mobile units should be over one meter. Thus, it depends on the size of the room as to how many systems can be installed at one time. A channel capacity problem will result in a short range and sound disturbances.
