New headsets by Sennheiser Communications make it particularly easy to engage in internet telephony. The starter headset series, aimed specifically at serving the demands of the VoIP market, has been expanded to include models PC 25 USB and PC 35 USB. These models will be available from April 2006. Technically they are based on the PC 20 and PC 30 headsets launched recently, yet as the names suggest, they also feature USB port connections - as well as a digital volume control and microphone mute switch with blue LED.

Low-cost gossip with relatives in New Zealand is possible thanks to voice over internet protocol technology, often called VoIP or internet telephony. Various online services like Skype or iPhone are even offering worldwide telecommunication via the internet free of charge. But even the fastest broadband access is no use if microphone and speakers result in poor voice quality. Sennheiser Communications offers VoIP newcomers two new quality headsets for their calls via the World Wide Web. The starter headsets PC 20 and PC 30 are the audio specialist's response to the growing popularity of internet telephony and were released last year. These two models are being joined by USB port connection versions PC 25 USB and PC 35 USB available from May 2006.
The latest headband models are identical apart from one aspect: whereas the PC 35 USB delivers the call to both ears (binaural/stereo), the PC 25 is a one-sided headset (monaural). Both models give the user a choice of whether to place the microphone on the left or the right. According to Sennheiser, the new headsets also display flexibility with regard to comfort in use. The headband and microphone are easily adjusted to suit individual head measurements, so those who spend a long time on the phone profit from the headsets' good fit. Their light weight and ergonomic ear cushions mean these tools that are hardly noticed when in use. Both models feature a digital volume control and microphone mute switch with blue LED.
Sennheiser created audio-acoustics are award winning. It comes as no surprise therefore when they report that the convincing sound quality permits problem-free communication with no misunderstandings. What's more, the noise-cancelling microphone effectively filters out unwanted ambient noise, which is ideal for voice recognition applications. Even enjoying simple multimedia files is no problem with the PC 35 USB. With its two earphones, the headset offers the sound of MP3 files, CDs or DVDs in stereo quality.
Just plug in and start phoning with the headset direct USB connector. And even if the ports are hidden at the back of your PC, the three meter cable leaves you optimum freedom of movement at your desk. The PC 25 USB and PC 35 USB models are outstanding not only for their superior look and their comfort in use, but also for their robust design. With their Kevlar fibrereinforced cables, for example, the headsets can look forward to a long life even with heavy use.
