Output level
Does my PC remember my preferred output levels?
In general most operating systems like VISTA read in the registration database when device is recognized (used before in the same USB slot). When the USB device is used for the first time and the operating system needs to allocate a driver for the device, then it will read preferred settings directly from the device if possible.
Sennheiser Communications has set the levels when our USB device is recognized the first time in the following way:
Speaker output 50%
Microphone sensitivity 50%
Sidetone (feedback from mic) 10%
After recognition and loading of drivers for the device, all user preferred settings are stored in the operating system and will be activated when the USB device is used again.
